Did anyone else go see Fireproof?

What an amazing movie! I am so glad my husband and I went to see this. It really hit home. The arguments, problems and stresses between the couple, Caleb & Cathrine Holt, were legitimate and believable. It carried a strong marriage Christian message-spoke to the value of a Covenant Marriage. I was very impressed and a little teary eyed. Our theater was PACKED. Everyone stood and applauded at the end of the movie. How cool. I can't wait to see it again. Did anyone else see it/ What did you think?

For those of us in a rocky situation, do you think it would be likely to be taken as 'dragging me to something to rub my face in it' thing to start another fight?

I think it brings up some hard stuff and deals with it in a touching, funny, honest way. I don't know how it would be received by your wife, km. I know that it opened up some issues that my husband and I still needed to deal with. Not actions but emotions. It's about hope and hanging on. I have read a lot of what you have posted on here. If your wife is as resistant as you have said, perhaps this would be a gentle nudge towards a deeper relationship. I doubt she would see it as rubbing her face in it although she may feel "convicted" and possibly wall up the emotions brought forth

I am going to see it Weds. with my husband. I am so thrilled. The trailer made me cry, but then again I am pregnant.. lol

I am looking forward to seeing it for myself - in that I need some inspiration on how to be in my marriage. About love, tenderness, accepting and most of all forgiving... So I am thrilled.

KM, I do not think she would see it that way at all. It seems to really be an eye opener, really it is just a movie that happens to be christian based and has a great story of hope and holding on. Any movie can touch someone if they see it that way. So maybe she will only think she is going to view a great film and it will inspire her...

Still praying for you!
