Off Subject Prayer Request

Postby charity1 » Mon Dec 08, 2008 8:36 am

Everyone,
I know this prayer request is not along the lines of marriage relationships, but would you please pray for my son who has just been diagnosed with Melanoma. He is due to go back to the doctor next week and have some tissue removed from around a mole that was removed a couple of weeks ago. Please pray that the cancer has not spread and that all will be well with him. Thank you very much.

(((((((Dearest Charity)))))))

I have sent a prayer upward to our Lord concerning your son. It doesn't matter that all our requests are not about marriage issues. We are here for each other in every respect. We are family.

Sometimes it's tough being a mom, isn't it? Have also asked for you to have peace of mind about this.

Please let us know how things are going, ok?

Love,

Thank you ladies! I will let you know what happens next week. I am definitely getting some lessons on learning to live in the present. It is awesome how God gives us the advice we need when we need it. The sermon yesterday was all about living in your circumstances, not living for the day that they get better. The preacher said that if you put your life on hold until all of the cirumstances are good, you will never get on with your life. That is so true. It seems like I have had one valley right after another. Thankfully they haven't all hit at once, so I have been able to deal with each of them as they come. This is just another lesson on learning to lean on God and realizing I have no control! I heard another lesson not long ago on Hebrews 12:2 that talked about the Lord being the author and finisher of our faith - since He is the author of our lives, we know that no matter how many twists and turns there are in our life story, it will all come out good in the end! I thought that was pretty awesome. Since I love to read, I could really relate to that. As many times as I have heard that verse quoted, I had never really thought of it like that.

I've been through several cancer scares with family (and am dealing with one family member in that situation with another doing chemotherapy). No one would wish it on another, but I pray that you find stregth to weather this however it goes, and however long it takes.

It is possible to get through these with far more strength than you knew you had (or maybe, more accrately, with far more strength than you do actually have - through His grace).

Dear Charity

As many have said before me - however you need us to support you, we're here. That's what it means to be part of the Growthtrac family. You're literally surrounded by prayer. Call on us, dear sister, anytime!

God bless you, strengthen you, uphold you and prepare you for whatever lies ahead. Praying that your son receives a very good prognosis when the results come back.

Dear Charity

You have been in our thoughts and prayers - and your son has, too. Is there any news yet? How are you all bearing up? I hope you are managing to stay positive? Proverbs 17:22

My prayer for you today is that you feel completely protected and surrounded by God's love and strength and peace.

FHJ,
Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. They mean more to me than you'll ever know. He goes to have the procedure done late this afternoon, so we should know more then. Your prayers are definitely working, I have been more at peace with this than I ever thought possible, and he has been very upbeat. I think we are all finally learning to take one day at a time and not worry about tomorrow. I will let you know what we find out.

Thank all of you so much for your prayers. You aren't going to believe this, but when my son had the rest of the procedure done yesterday, they told him they found out a couple of days ago that he actually doesn't have cancer that it was precancer!! They said if he hadn't come in when he did, it would have been cancer, but they caught it in time!! Is that awesome or what?? There is no doubt in my mind that our prayers made a difference. He had another mole removed yesterday that they are checking, so please keep him in your prayers, but it appears that he is fine.
