Well yesterday went really well. He didn't show up and I got sole custody of the girls and the hearing court officer said that according to his pay stuff he should be giving me 1600 a month child support and * alimony. So I was happy about it and he didnt call or show up today to see the girls. so i don't know what he is upto i did find out that he did go to church that sunday that is a plus.

Did the judge enter an order requiring him to pay that?

Grateful things worked out for you. That is a BIG ouch in his monthly finances!

I find it interesting that he did not show up in court.

You want to make sure that the court has ordered him to pay "x" amount per month. Without an order fromthe court to do "x", you have nothing to enforce against him should he fail to do so.

When you get the paperwork from your lawyer, specifically ask him/her:

1. Exactly how much does he have to pay?
2. When does he have to pay it (on what schedule)?
3. Precisely what do you do in the event that he misses a *? Err ... scheduled transfer of funds to you

misti,

In addition to what km said, you should also ask your lawyer if this is retroactive to a certain date.

This is great news for your kids, especially, because you can support them.

It's a spam word that has been hitting the forums quite frequently.

You can use the word "remittance" - dear sir. You'll sound like you are from England, Scotland or Ireland.

I often have trouble just speaking American. I don't know that I'd be able to master English.
