That is awesome news that all the details have been worked out for you and your family. What a beautiful little boy.

rd - really great news that this is looking so positive for your son/wife/you, after an anxious and uncertain time. Isn't it wonderful how God answers prayers and lays solutions before us when we truly trust Him. :)

So very glad things seem to be heading in a more positive direction. Are they still conducting tests? He is absolutely a cutie pie!

I think we're done with the tests for a while, but we plan to get a hearing test at some point.

Thanks.

RD,
How has your little boy been doing the past few weeks? Did the hearing test reveal anything?

Thanks for asking. The school has not done a hearing test yet. He just had his first speech therapy yesterday.

Mainly, he is adjusting to going to school every day, and that has gone fairly well. He seems to like his teacher a lot.

Thanks for asking. That is very thoughtful of you.

We have a teacher conference coming up soon. We see some slight improvement in his speech, but not a lot. He still has some echolalia. If we ask, "What did you do in school today?" He might respond, "School today," [echoing] or he might give a stock response of, "Miss E___" [his teacher's name]. We usually get one of those two answers. He does not really answer the question.

But he is a real blessing from God. Yesterday he hugged my leg and, unsolicited, said, "I love you, Daddy." That was the highlight of my week. It melted my heart.

rd,

Wasn't echoing with that statement, was he? That definitely garners hope that all will turn out well in the long run.

Keep us posted.

He was not echoing, which is what made it so heartwarming. He just said that out of the blue.
