New beginnings

Postby pensive_01_01 » Tue Jan 03, 2006 7:25 pm

I was wondering if anyone has been seperated from a significant other and then tried going back to the relationship. Has it worked and what has helped you to make this work? I know this is right, I know it is good for me, I've never felt love like this before I was just hurt and neglected. We are dating again, it's comfortable it's true love but is it okay not to feel the Woohoo?

Pensive-- welcome!

More specific please. Did you separate from your spouse and
now considering getting back together?

Also... have you seen this post?

I think we all experience woohoo when we first meet our spouse, but then we expect it to last forever. When it starts to diminish, we become disillusioned and start looking for it in someone else. It's an ulrealistic expectation to believe it will always be there. There is something to be said for commitment, security, trust and a bond with Christ that can never be broken.

We should consider putting this focus and energy into having woohoo moments with our savior. We need to consider being this passionate and focused in our time and prayer with God and being on fire for his love and growth in our lives. If we focus this much energy into what he desires for us, then can you imagine the energy, love and woohoo we could possibly build into our marriage???

God continues to give me whoohoo moments in my marriage and I am grateful for each one that comes our way. Is it all the time? No.
I am secure in my love for my husband, I know he is always there. He is tender, giving and still passionate for me. We share a deep love, have focused energy/prayer together in our relationship with Jesus Christ and in serving others with Christ's love.
